October 28, 2009 - Ethics Ambassadors
Nominate a friend, classmate or stranger who has done a specific thing that you believe demonstrates particular strength of character to be a Duke Ethics Ambassador! Nominations will be due November 10th, and can be submitted to Dukehonorcouncil@gmail.com or Campus Mailbox 97971 in written or creative form (photograph, postcard, sketch, poem, etc.) The recipient will receive publicity as the face of honor at Duke, campus-wide recognition of his/her deeds, plus a special treat!

See what Duke looks like UnMasked. Duke Unmasked is a social movement co-sponsored by Honor Council, DUU and MINDS. The UnMasquerade is Phase 3: a campus-wide semiformal cocktail party on Friday, March 20. And a party smarter than you've ever seen. 1) Before March 6, fill out your official RSVP, a 1-minute personality survey available at dukeunmasked.com. 2) On March 20, go to the UnMasquerade, the first post-Spring Break campus-wide semiformal. 3) At the party, check out your fellow students' secrets, group masks, free food, beer and wine on flex, a capella, dancing, a live DJ -and a guaranteed surprise. April 8, 2008 - Event for Genocide Awareness Week: Chad Hazlett
Chad Hazlett, Trinity '02 and Director of Protection Programs at the Washington D.C.-based Genocide Intervention Network, will be speaking about the impact of a Duke education on his career in public service as part of the International Association's Genocide Awareness Week. Come out for "Engaging in a Career of Service: Taking Duke Abroad," held this Thursday, April 10 in Social Sciences 139 at 6:30-8p! There will be FREE FOOD. March 31, 2008 - Honor Blog!
We are happy to announce the launching of our new blog! Loosely themed for maximum flexibility and creativity, the honor blog provides an informal public space for councilors to share their thoughts on issues directly or tangentially related to honor and ethics at Duke and beyond. Contents will likely range from the witty to the weird, and from the in-depth to the more easily digestible -no two councilors are alike, and the blog will serve as a window to our varying opinions, as well as a forum for ongoing debate and interesting things-to-consider. January 30, 2008 - Today: AMBASSADOR ROBERT KRUEGER
Former Duke Professor, Dean and Vice-Provost Robert Krueger has also served as a U.S. Senator, Congressman, three-time Ambassador and Special Representative of the U.S. Secretary of State. He will be talking about his experiences averting crisis during escalating tensions between ethnic groups while serving as US ambassador to Burundi. His talk is entitled: EFFECTIVE DIPLOMACY: STRENGTH IN THE FACE OF GENOCIDE and will be followed by a book-signing of 'From Bloodshed to Hope in Burundi: Our Embassy Years during Genocide.' Time: 4.30 today, Wednesday, January 30th. Location: McClendon Tower 5. Co-sponsored by Honor Council and International Association.

January 29, 2008 - Go watch 'Knocked Up'!
There will be a screening of "Knocked Up" in Griffith Theater at 7pm on Tuesday, February 5, as the first film in a four-film campus series entitled "Sex, Love and Conflict: On the Ethics of Relationships," sponsored by the Kenan Institute for Ethics and the Film/Video/Digital Program for Duke's Spring Screen/Society.
